Torquay Ordinariate Parish
"To realise the vision of the apostolic constitution Anglicanorum cœtibus, as a concrete means of bringing lay faithful, clergy, and religious to a faithful and authoritative expression of the Catholic faith through the liturgical, spiritual, and pastoral traditions of the Anglican tradition now within the full communion of the Catholic Church, cultivating bonds of unity, and promoting this precious gift as a means of building up the one Body of Christ, which is the Church, through love."
Our Calling & Our Mission
The Ordinariate in this place is a response to Christ's prayer to the Father at the beginning of His Passion; that we may be one, just as He and Father are one. United under one visible head - the Pope - just as He remains our invisible head. We are united in communion with the Church spread throughout the world and very members incorporate of His Mystical Body.

The Holy Spirit moved - and continues to move - Anglicans to petition to be received into full communion with the Holy Catholic Church and all the blessings and graces which that unity bestows. Pope Benedict XVI brought this holy desire to reality with the establishment of the Ordinariates and so brought to fruition that unity for which our Blessed Lord Jesus prayed for and entrusted to His bishops, set within the Catholic Church.

Our Catholic parish belongs to the Ordinariate and works hard to labour in the mission field for the salvation of souls. We make it our special duty to work for for the continuation of the holy desire that our Blessed Lord Jesus' prayer might be realised, that we might be one, just as He and the Father are one.

The Parish of Our Lady of Walsingham with St Cuthbert Mayne is committed to seeking ways to bring people to the joy of The Good News of Jesus Christ. To show through worship and fellowship our love for God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We are committed to welcome all to share in this new life in Christ and to encourage each other to discern and fulfil our several vocations.
We are committed to a life of daily prayer and service with The Mass at the centre.
We are committed to being part of and being of service to our local community.
We are committed to sharing the Catholic Faith and share in The Mission of The Catholic Church.

We are committed to asking the prayers of Our Lady, St John Henry Newman , St Cuthbert Mayne and all the Saints as we seek to serve Our Lord.
For the Ordinariate
Almighty and everlasting God, who dost govern all things in heaven and earth: Mercifully hear our prayers, and grant to this Ordinariate all things needful for its spiritual welfare; priests and deacons to labour in this portion of Thy vineyard; holy, learned, and zealous religious; churches complete in the beauty of holiness.
Strengthen and confirm the faithful; strengthen and confirm the faithful, protect and guide the children; visit and relieve the sick; turn and soften the wicked; arouse the careless; recover the fallen; restore the penitent.
Remove all hinderances to the advancement of Thy truth; and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within the fold of Thy Holy Church, to the honour and glory of Thy Blessed Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
